Left 4 Dead? Or Not?

Who really didn’t expect this to be my first post? It has to be the most Epic game I have ever played. This review is to show the people who have not played it, what they’re missing. Let’s start off with the basics. There are four characters you get to choose from. None of them have any special abilities, so choosing which one you want to be really just depends on which one you think is pretty. I usually choose Bill. He’s the old guy [pictured above] he was in the military so he knows what he’s doing. I just like using him because he’s old and still can kick butt. Second favorite would probably be Francis. He is the biker drug addict looking guy. He also gets all of the best lines. [”Bill if your beard turns into a zombie can I shoot it?”] My least favorite has to be a tie between Zoey and Louis. Zoey was a college student who some how survived the zombies and found the other guys. Louis was some kind of office manager like thing. I don’t really know. The most annoying thing about these two [it probably happens with all AIs but these are the main two I think of] whenever you are playing a campaign and you are shooting , these two have this horrible habbit of jumping right infront of you and taking friendly fire. It’s extremely annoying.
Second thing on the list to mention should be the levels. There are four to be exact. The easiest one [for me] has to be Death Toll. You start off on a highway and you have to fight your way through train areas and cities. It’s pretty easy to complete on any difficulty because it’s not completely open and zombies can’t sneak up behind you easily. The Finale is a boat house and it’s the best one. You summon a rescue boat from the other side of the river and then survive for about 5-8 minutes. There is a turret on the deck up stairs that is perfect for help with the “Red Mist” acheivement. There is also a rock in the far right corner [at the water] that you can climb onto where the zombies can’t get you. Well they can climb up it, but only one at a time and the Tank can’t climb it at all. But he can Still throw rocks. No Mercy is the second easiest level. You start off on the top of an apartment building. You work your way through the building and through the city to reach the subway. Then you go from the subway to the sewers then to the hospital. The hospital is the more difficult part of the level, especially trying to get on the roof. The under construction area at the top is really confusing at first. Everything looks pretty much the same and is really frustrating the first few times you try it. Not to mention the fact that you can get thrown off the side and die. Get through that part and reach the roof for the finale. There is also a turret here, but it’s not very good because it’s out in the open where dozens of zombies can sneak up on you. Just stay in the closet and you will have no problem waiting on the copter. Then there is “Dead Air”. I should be pretty obvious that the finale is set at an air port. This level is pretty straight forward but I haven’t played it all that much. You spend most of your time on the roof top of biuldings. Which does make it easy to catch zombies before they catch you. You finally make your way to the airport, after going through an apartment hotel thing, a building site and a zombie infested buisness office. Fight your way through the hordes of zombies till you get to the finale. This has to be the hardest Finale of all of them. You are waiting on the plane to fuel up and you are right in the middle of everything. Zombies can come from all sides and it’s nearly impossible on expert. Just do your best then get on the plane as fast as possible. But there is no doubt that “Blood Harvest” is the hardest level. You start off in the woods, and you spend most of your time there. The woods make it extremely hard to spot the zombies before it’s too late. Especially when a lot of the zombies are in BDUs. So you go through the woods as quickly as possible and you end up in a warehouse. Fun times. You go through your summon the horde moments and hope you don’t run into a tank. You go through some more woods [it’s like they never end] till you get to a train yard. Go through a few houses till you get to the bridge. Run down the bridge to the safe room at the end. Then it’s time for the Finale. At this point you’re thinking YES!!!! It’s almost over!!!! Well guess what, it’s not. There is a huge cornfield you have to gett through first. One thing that helps me really well is don’t go through the middle!!! Go to the left, and keep to the left until you are past it and at the barn. Then go into the house and summon the rescue vehicle. The best spot to survive is the closet in the parent’s bedroom. If one person is in the closet and another person is in the far left corner, then there is a chance [if you both crouch] that the tank will get stuck and be unable to make it up to the house and die. Stay there for a while and then run to the vehicle. Then it’s over.

Overall the Game is definately a must have. The graphics are amazing and it’s sure to be a classic. I will add another post later about online play because it’s completely different. Questions are welcomed and would be much appreciated. Let me Know what you think :)
